We are pleased to bring back
Coach Laffin's Skills & Drills Basketball Camp 
featuring
Coach Brian Laffin.

Coach Laffin has over twenty years’ experience as a head coach and is most known for coaching the Poughkeepsie High School Pioneers. He has guided the Pioneers to numerous league titles, holiday tournament championships and the 2013 Section I Class A Championship. He currently has four former college players playing professionally.  Coach Laffin’s coaching career began when he became the youngest college men’s head coach in the United States at Dutchess Community College, coaching his first game at the age of 23. He is currently a member of the Dutchess County Coaches Association and board member of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York. (BCANY.org) He has worked many summer camps including camps at the University of Kentucky and Syracuse University. Coach Laffin has received numerous Coach of the Year Honors during his career. He currently resides in Pleasant Valley.

 Regular Registration begins March 5th and will close when camp is full or on July 29th, whichever comes first. 

             *REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED ONE WEEK BEFORE FIRST DAY OF CAMP
                                                TO AVOID LATE REGISTRATION FEE. 


CAMP LOCATION:  LaGrange Middle School (LMS)


PLEASE NOTE: 
 
 If your child/ren will be attending multiple PV Rec Camps this summer, the Medical Screening Form only needs to be filled out IN ITS ENTIRETY, one time and is part of the required "checkout" process.  You no longer have to print it out to submit it.

Daily Camp Schedule
  • 8:00—8:30 Camper Drop Off
  • 8:30–8:45 Attendance and Encouragement of the Day
  • 8:45–9:30 Basketball specific training, Warm up and Conditioning provided by NORTH STAR SPORTS
  • 9:30–11:00 Offensive and Defensive Stations - Skill Development
  • 11:00–11:30 Hoops Talk and Snack
  • 11:30–1:00 Skills Competitions, Team Practice and Games
  • 1:00 Camper pick up

IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION
**RECORD OF IMMUNIZATIONS: Dutchess County Department of Health regulations require that we have the dates of these immunizations on file from Physician's records. Please submit a copy of these records ASAP, BUT NO LATER THAN JULY 29 @ 12 NOON, either by having the doctor’s office fax them directly to the Rec Office, 845-266-3873, via regular mail to 1554 Main Street, Pleasant Valley, or if need be they can be dropped by the Rec Office located at 27 Hibernia Road, Salt Point. If submitted after 12 noon, July 29th, your child will not be able to attend Monday, August 5th, the first day of camp.
A Camp physical is not mandatory, but any and all health concerns must be noted.

General Information
  • Sneakers MUST be worn each day
  • Water bottles and a healthy snack should be sent daily - insulated bags are best for snacks that require refrigeration
  • Refrigeration is available
  • ALL belongings MUST be marked with child's name
  • The registration process asks for "Who Will / May Pick up your child from camp" each day. If someone other than who is listed, will pick up your child, we MUST have it in writing stating as such. ID for this person will be required at the time of pick-up.
